I remember when the first KKs opened up in the NW Twin Cities - the line to get in the parking lot backed up on to the freeway.

KK/DD have their place, but local bakeries are a good thing... well, provided that they're actually good. I was glad to see that Minneapolis has a growing bakery scene - there are a couple of stellar pastry shops near me, but I still haven't found a great doughnut boutique. I hear that Glam Doll is pretty good, but haven't found myself in the neighborhood (contrary to popular belief, I don't make dedicated trips to doughnut shops).
