Were your previous rides in the last few weeks as long, and back-to-back days? I ask because I find it tough on the upper body going from short rides to much longer ones. And with it being cold the shoulders and back are tight.
No problems even though I have only ridden a handful of times in the last 8 months. Maybe you need a bike fitting of some sort if you are that uncomfortable.
