Like Buzzman, I too live in Boston with the amenities described. Even on the other end of my commute, in a suburb 14 miles from downtown, I have Commuter Rail about two short blocks away, bus outside the door; and Enterprise Car Rental about two miles away will pick me up. No Zipcars though.
