Bikes: 2012 Kludgemonger (Parts assembled from multiple bikes, from 1970 onwards), 1971 Schwinn Super Sport, 2002 Bianchi Nyala

Serial number to decode, plus pics and a possible Texas Ranger
I have a possible Texas Rangerette on my hands and need someone to decode the serial number, located perpendicular to the road on the drive side rear dropout. The number is R488846. Restoration is in progress. Pics are included.
