It will be easy to switch out the downtube shifters for Suntour Barcon ratcheting shifters. Although looking at [MENTION=109949]wrk101[/MENTION] WV, it appears (because I spy gray lever covers) his Barcon shifters are the Schwinn Approved models made by Suntour. These can be pricey but are the same shifter.

I've seen a few WV that apparently had the original saddle switched for a Brooks at the Schwinn dealer. Generally speaking the switch was either for a B15 (which was on the Sports Tourer and Super Sport) or the Professional (on the Paramount). Either would be an appropriate choice. My current favorite for my '70s Schwinns is the B5N which is no longer made.
