You won't have to adjust after every ride, but adjustments require more fiddling with the mounting bolts. Avid BB7 are great, mechanical disk brakes, that have inner & outer adjustments via turnknobs by hand. You can pick them up for $100 if the supplied Tektro's end up being a pain. For an out-of-pocket of $379, I say go for it and start having some fun.
