Problem with SKS Raceblade long front guard coming off at speed

Yesterday I had the unfortunate luck to have the front portion of my SKS Raceblade Long fender pop off on a 40+mph descent when I hit a bump in the road. The fender either got caught in my spokes and spit out, and/or run over as I heard a loud plastic *SNAP* as it happened and my front wheel pushed out a bit. I stayed upright and was able to stop safely and checked my tires/wheels and they were in good order (no visible damage to spokes, tires had no clear puncture and I was able to ride home 5mi with no issues). I went back up the hill to see if I could find the rest of my fender and it was in the middle of the road, snapped in two:

I know SKS did a recall on these fenders in 2012 (http://www.sks-germany.com/?l=en&a=news&i=128) but their recall notice says all fenders delivered since June 2012 are free of the defect that caused the recall (it's not clear if the recall was even for this specific issue). I bought mine in Jan 2014 so I can't imagine these are still an old batch that didn't get recalled properly.

I've emailed SKS to see what they say about this as well. Anyone else had a similar problem with the front (or rear) small portion of your SKS Raceblade Long coming off while riding?
