Maybe its because I'm new to this but for me getting to a high Category isn't a priority. Maybe that will change, but as a new 5 it just seems like a grind. The two big things I'd like to do are 1) win a race 2) race on a team that trains and races together.
I am finding that the more I race, the less scary and/or novel it is, and the more fun it's become. I wanted out of the 4s because 4s is half 5s and it was sketchy often. I thought I'd be a 3-ever, then I started tasting a little bit of success and enjoying it, and now I wish I'd raced more last year when I was really flying. As it is, I need another result before the end of March so I can say I went 3->2 (30 pts) in under a year. I'll probably be pack fill in p12 races, but hey, 3 -> 2 in under a year. And not even 20 races yet.
