Tried the VO2Max breakaway intervals today, from TRWPM. 30 s sprint, followed by 3 min @ 100-110% FTP, followed by another 10 s sprint (final sprint optional), 5 min recovery. I was supposed to do 5 work intervals, did 3 but after a lacklustre 4th sprint I was really struggling to settle into the +threshold 3 min, so I called it a day.

It was a good hard workout, but not being able to finish my scheduled intervals had me feeling a bit defeated. Was just looking over my ride files, and it turns out I set new PRs at 30s, 1 min, 2 min, and 3 min. So maybe not altogether a waste of time - the ability to recover from hard efforts and go again is one of the main things I need to work on, just means I need to work on these kinds of intervals more to get used to a more explosive style of riding.
