It's actually kind of cool nowadays in a counter-culture kind of way, but no he's not nearly as enthusiastic about it as I am. He thinks I'm local famous because people tend to know me and my bikes and he wants in on that.
This is what I'm seeing in parts of Philadelphia, and it's not just the bike messenger thing either. Enjoy the "he thinks I'm famous" while it lasts. My sons thought the same thing with bikes, guitars, and beer. But then they started making their own connections, and I'm not so famous in their eyes any longer.
