Got in a pretty good two hours wrenching with another local organization that gives bikes to kids who don't have them and can't afford them. Surprisingly, the dark blue and yellow 20" Columbia Sportswear bike I rescued from the scrap pile and worked on last time was still there and I got a chance to finish it. It could use a thorough wipe-down and lube everywhere but it's good to go if someone wants it.
So glad I took my own tools. When I was there before an eagle-eyed volunteer kept counting his wrenches and calling out "Who has the 15mm?" He wasn't helping today but I didn't want to take a chance, I hate having to go look for/ask for things, and it's nice to use the tools I'm already familiar with and like the feel of.
Way in the back was a 1995 Trek 820 like mine. (It still had the trip computer and some very nice lights on it so we're going to give them a copy of a flyer someone left at our shop about a similar Trek that was stolen.) I told LoP, the next time my 820 complains about riding too fast downhill or hauling groceries, I'm going to say "Remember that other 820 that's standing in the bottom of an empty swimming pool with all the rest of the bikes waiting to see if it will be scrapped or not? Yeah. Tsk tsk."
