Riding motorcyles, there were perhaps 2 occasions in which something very odd happened. Riding north from Ojai on Hwy 33 on a V-twin sport bike, I began to develop a rhythm through the curves in which my speed and confidence increased . . . increased to the point that the bike was literally being slammed from one side to the other, pegs occasionally touching pavement, and banging the apex in a couple dozen successive, tight curves. All conscious thought left. For about 6 minutes, I became a detached observer to the coordinated efforts of my cerebral cortex, hands on clutch and throttle, and feet on gearshift and trailing brake.
I'm older now and probably won't have that experience again in my life. But I won't forget it. Duane Behrens
