90s MTB SS conversion/BB spindle width ?
Converting a Trek Mountain Track 820 to SS for commuting. The crankset I've got (FSA Gimondi) wants a 110mm BB spindle width, which I assume will not allow me to run a 42ish tooth chainring w/ wider MTB chainstays.
I'm using a spacers and a single cog for the rear, so I'll have flexibility to get the chainline straight. However, I don't want such a long spindle that the chainring is WAY too far outboard.
How would I figure what spindle width I'd need? Thanks.
