I just went through the 26tpi BB with a 78 Raleigh Superbe. PITA. I ended up reusing the bottom bracket and going cottered. Maybe you can find an axle spindle to go cotterless and reuse the cups. There should be something on Sheldon's website about that. Other than that, it is the VO BB ($$) or Phil Wood ($$$).
had some good luck at the coop this weekend, found 2 possible spindles, one is almost an exact match with the square taper,it looks like a 71, but the length of the spindle is on the short side, i didn't measure but looks in the 105 to 106 range, found another thats a 70 and the spindle length should be more then enough, im only running a 1x6 so as long as my ring doesn't come in contact i should be ok..
