A few years back, bigbossman and I put together a series of SlowPoke Rides. These feature reasonable paces, regrouping often, and lunch. Heavy on the lunch.
Well, tempus fuget, and the SlowPoke Rides went the way of the Mohicans.
Until this weekend.
Sunday, Feb. 23, meet at 9:30 at the Orinda BART Station ticket machines for a 9:45 rollout. I plan to go up Wildcat Canyon, through Tilden Park staying on Wildcat (I am not a fan of going up Shasta) along Grizzly Peak/Skyline, back down Pinehurst, into Moraga and back along Moraga Way to Orinda BART. I think it comes to somewhere around 25 to 27 miles. Yes, there are climbs, but there are also fun descents, pretty roads and some great views of the Bay. Lunch either at Bianca's in Moraga or Europa in Orinda, as the mood strikes us.
This is not meant to be a fast ride. (As some of you know, I simply don't do fast on uphills.) In fact, I gurantee it will be a slow ride - that's how we roll in SlowPoke Ride Land. But it should be fun.
I know it's short notice, but what the heck - it's not like you have anything better to do, right?

Let me know if you are coming so I know to look for you at Orinda BART.
