We just hurt ourselves often and deeply, in a periodized manner which I've learned by experience. It's all dosage dependent. I hit a 157 HR on Sunday and Stoker hit 161. I think we're about on schedule.
The thing about this brevet is that it has 7500' climbing. That's way more than I've ever done. And the past two years it's been done in freezing temps.

I'm confident I can do the century with 4500' climbing. I'd really like to get a brevet under my belt, though.
