2003 Specialized Enduro Expert $1200 - good buy?
Hi - new to the forums!
I've been into road biking over the last few years and just moved to a mountain state. Loads of hiking and mountain biking trails out the back door (Los Alamos, NM). I want to get into mountain biking as well and am looking for a good option to start. I won't be taking any major jumps or anything like that, just riding trails that would also be appropriate for hiking (don't even know the terminology!). I want something that would hold up though if I do want to get into anything down the line.
I wanted to get your guys' opinion here: There's a guy in town selling a Specialized Enduro Expert, aluminum frame, 2003 I think from some snooping I did online. Shimano XT Dual Control brifters, XTR rear deraileur, XT front deraileur, XT crankset, Mavic 317 wheels, 26x2.2 enduro tires. He's asking $1200. Seems like a lot for my first step into the sport, but I'm also willing to pay if it's a good deal. I'd also pay more for a new bike but wondered if this would be a good deal. I rode it recently and it felt good, but I just have no idea when it comes to this. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!
