It's the sort of distance where I would probably want some padding below my sitbones, but padded shorts are a huge inconvenience at work. I was thinking I could wear liner shorts beneath regular exercise shorts, and change out of my liner shorts during work. Do others have other strategies?
Why not just wear a proper pair of bibs, and a jersey for that matter, and change when you get to work?
