Last lap was sketchy. When it was fast it was fine, but when it was slow you had 100 people trying to be near the front of a huge blob. I looked over and saw commotion and a diagonal bike on a straight section. The field split like there was a crash, but it never came. Dude saved it. Then a real crash came a few miles from the finish.
Yeah this sounds about right for the race. There were a few teams with 5+ guys, who did nothing, everyone racing for them selves. We (delta velo) were trying to get our 3/5 guys who were left in the race to set up a lead out in the closing 2 k, but the crash took out one of our guys and split my self and my other team mate up. It was notably slow in the last 2k. It was easy enough to move to the front, but you would be swamped right away. I was about 25 through the last turn, but was not pulling people in like I am used to doing on an uphill sprint.
