I don't carry a pressure gauge. In fact, I don't own a presta valve gauge, other than the gauges built into my floor pumps. (I own several floor pumps.) I won't claim that my thumbs are well calibrated, but well enough to get me home if I have to inflate on the road. Most pumps aren't even strong enough to give me the pressure I use when I pump at home, so I quit when I've pumped all I can.
