Bikes: 1940s Fothergill, 1959 Allegro Special, 1963? Claud Butler Olympic Sprint, Lambert 'Clubman', 1974 Fuji "the Ace", 1976 Holdsworth 650b conversion rando bike, 1983 Trek 720 tourer, 1984 Counterpoint Opus II, 1993 Basso Gap, 2010 Downtube 8h, and...

I got a Lotus Challenger frame from one forum member, and some fenders from another, and built up a bike for my daughter, who is small for her age but a great athlete. The bike is made for 27" wheels but I put 26" (559) wheels on it with dynamo-drum brake front hub and five speed IGH drum brake rear. Good wide gear range, easy to shift, good lights always on. Perfect for a kid. Now I just have to teach her something about how to take care of a fine machine.

My son has gone through a series of similar bikes, and I'm about to build him yet another one....
