- was out day before yesterday on a quick early morning 10-miler, when all of sudden i hear "klunk, klunk, klunk, klunk..."

- stopped, got off the bike... spun the front wheel... then spun the back wheel...

- "klunk, klunk, klunk"

- lo and behold, a 1/4" screw is embedded in the rear tire... i pulled out the screw and tossed it off the road... the casing was torn with a nice hole...

- but the tire didn't flat!

- in fact, i rode another four miles on the rear tire...

- i was pretty impressed... (i wish i had kept the screw for luck - woulda stuck it in my seat bag)...
