imo LBSs have no practical use in this day and age. places like bikeforums and youtube have all the info/FAQs you will ever need to do anything bike related. and sites like ebay and amazon are not only cheaper, but they deliver your items to your door and save you the time and hassle. LBSs are failing because they have failed to adapt to the market: that's their own fault.

i stopped going to LBSs 5 years ago and never looked back. i do all my maitenance myself and i get a lot of satisfaction from that (not to mention a wider wallet).
