it seems like they are counting children's bikes and very low end bikes as part of the total. i wonder how statistics would change if it was solely looking over adult bikes in the mid range and higher categories, especially considering thats the range people make most profit from.
i also would be curios to see where and how much is spent on bike accessories and parts, as well as how regularly cyclists pay for mechanic labor rather than doing it themself. important considering LBSs make very little profit from actual bike sales but rather from the accessories and labor they sell
