Funny, i had a yellow one like pictured and the paint flaked as well. I stripped it for a repaint and then ended up leaving it bare chrome. The chrome under the paint isn't a mirror polish like the stays, but it was good enough for me.

the bike originally came with a straight blade profile carbon fork with a threadless chromoly steerer and full ultegra 9spd. I recall the top tube being a little on the long side very much like the similar 853 lemonds that came with near the same spec. If it fits you well, I think it is worth a nice fork and good components. Mine was briefly dressed in record and chorus components and it didn't feel over dressed. I often regret selling it.

oh, I recall the seatpost being 27mm.
