I use Garmin Forerunner 305 for the last 3 years. Its a multi sport GPS. Garmin website say it have 10 hrs of battery life. Fully charged and set up for less accurate tracking - it always lasted around 12 hrs. First I get a message that battery is low, but I still get around 2 more hours. It was the same when it was new, and now even after 3 years of heavy use. It seems that they didn't cut any corners on quality of their batteries.
If this is the same for newer versions - 17 hours may end up being 20 or more.
