The N fold thing is what mqakes this confusing
You fold the handlebar to the left , but than you turn the wheel all around, so the handlebar is now on the right .... The main thing is that if the bike is folded correctly the Handlebar is on the OUTSIDE and not stuffed between the wheels in the INSIDE ...
