People who want to join a team just to get free stuff are not the kind of people I want to race with, personally. I'm sure there are more seasoned/successful racers that may disagree with me, but this is a core principal that we're using to run our club. And, since we are a club, not just a team, if our members want a more traditional team experience, they're welcome to join whatever team they'd like (we already have a few on the Mike's Bikes dev team and they're doing well! They'll be 3s very soon if they continue with the results they're getting now). We're agnostic.

For the foreseeable future, I'll be racing under the club's banner.
