I also paid $150 for my 93 Lemond Titanium DA. I raced across Phoenix one night after it was posted on CL just minutes earlier. Turned out I was 20 minutes ahead of a fellow BF member from the Valley who was also trying to buy the bike! I was thrilled like a child to get it. I opened a thread about that night here back in 2010.
But my best deal, was trumped by my
WORST deal less than a year later. That would be my soon-to-be-ex-wife. A pathological liar, deeply disturbed sociopath, with all the clinical symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder. I painfully discovered after heinous acts of betrayal that she married me only to gain legal residency in the USA, and to financially exploit and steal from me and my parents. I allowed an unethical, immoral, and unlawful thief and con-artist into my life and nearly lost that too. (yes, I do mean she was conspiring to have me disappear.)
The silver lining is that she is documented of committing criminal acts of fraud, grand larceny, and possibly other charges in Canada, months before she left to join me in the USA! They say what goes around, comes around.
I never did get to ride the Lemond, it has 'disappeared', along with two new 2009 Fetish Cycles Freccia tri frames and CF forks, my Vitus 979, Lemond Zurich, Trek 1000, Schwinn Crosscut, a stockpile of 10 speed Ultegra, DA, Record, and Centaur parts and 3 Campy 2006 Record wheels, a Giant OCR3, and tens of thousands worth of non-bike personal possessions. She deleted over 2,700 photos of mine, of which included evidence of possessions pre and post marriage in order to hide their existence. Unfortunately for her, I kept redundant backups of nearly all my photos and still have 99% of them.

At present, she is defiant of our judge's rulings and dismissed them as erroneous musings. She has rewrote the divorce decree to her own interpretation and submitted it back to the judge! My attorney suspects she will appeal because we discovered she has been dating a Scottsdale lawyer. Poor guy, she found her next target!
It is coming upon the 2-year anniversary of when my nightmare began, and the end of this is still no where in sight. I've essentially lost my faith in the justice and legal system.
