So there should be no surprise when we move other off-topic threads. And there should be no resentment of the Addiction thread because you either like it and join in, or you don't and stay out. There's no lock on the door. But just because the flow isn't exactly as you like it on any particular day, or at all, doesn't mean you can go off and start another off-topic thread. The rules are clear, and there is nothing arbitrary or capricious about it.

The bottom line is: you can never please everybody. Say La Vee!
