Folks, lets straighten out some definitions here.

FTP is the maximum average power you can sustain for 1 hour.

The 20 min test takes the average of that 20 min effort, multiplied by a factor of .95 to ESTIMATE your FTP.
The 8 min test takes the average of the 2 x 8 min efforts, multiplied by a factor of .90 to ESTIMATE your FTP.

To the OP, assuming everything is set up properly on Trainer Road (wheel circumference is correct, proper tension on the resistance drum) if you couldn't sustain any kind of effort on your large chainring for more than 4 mins, I would say that your FTP estimation is accurate.
