Thanks for the good wishes, everyone. While we were at the movie our dog was with my wife's sister. Thank God. Our cat didn't make it.

I was just at the house this morning picking up the bikes that made it (have to add my son's red 1987 Schwinn Sierra to the list of bikes that did not make it). what a bizarre, bizarre time. Very disorienting. Many silver lining s, however. Chief among them is how kind ane generous everyone has been. For those who might be interested, this is a link to an article I wrote to thank the praise and firefighters who were at the scene. http://www.presspubs.com/quad/opinio...9bb2963f4.html

I am very excited about the Team Miyata. In a crazy coincidence, I bought the bike last night from a guy south of Dallas (who ran an and that almost screamed NO SHIPPING, but he's been fabulous). His riding buddy, a school teacher, headed up to Minnesota this morning for spring break... with my bike in his car. I'm not crazy about the technomic stem, so I will keep an eye out for a replacement. If anyone has or hears of a high end Miyata stem please let me know.

Another crazy thing. I've been is the market for an 80s Schwinn Cimarron. Saw one on CL today in Atlanta for $50. Called the seller and he's amenable to having someone facilitate a pick and ship. Any of y'all from down that way?

Lastly, our insurance co. is being very good. You always worry about that. I know I did. But I have no complaints.

Thanks, all, for the thoughts and prayers. It means a lot.
