I have a broken shoulder blade [scapula] and my lovely CAAD 10 custom is dead.
The only up side is that I am now planning my next CAAD 10. I'm going to go for a frame only and Campag Record Groupset. Wheels? not sure yet.
I also don't know whether to go for a 52CM again or downszize to a 50cm. I know a couple of you on here have done that. Pls do you have any thought and comparisons?
That stinks, sorry for your shoulder and your bike. Hope you get better soon

As far as downsizing I am on a 56 and should be on a 58.

You definitely feel a sense of dominance over your bike
Steering is a little more twitchy (I feel in a good way)
if you like the position you're in now, you will have to show more seat tube and run a few spacers
Longer stem
I feel more confident on fast down hill descents because you have more control from the longer stem

One thing to check out would be knee clearance w/your head tube/back of stem/steerer tube. Out of the saddle riding/sprinting may give you an issue (like your knees hitting) I don't have this problem.

Overall, I am loving my downsized frame.
