Sorry to hear it man; I was hit by a car back in November and did some reconstructive surgery on my right forearm.
I recently went from a big 56cm frame (100mm stem)to a 54cm CAAD10. I didn't get much support from the shop which basically said to either buy a bike off the wall or pay us $400 for a video-fit. So I brought a plumb-bob for KOPS measurement and went from there. I rode a 52 and 54 about 10-miles each, ultimately the extreme "drop" on the 52 pushed me to buy the 54cm frame. I currently run that frame with a 15mm SB post and a 110mm stem (110mm printed, it measures 122cm with the calipers from steering tube center to bar center). I really, really like running the 2cm+ longer stem. It slows the steering way down and makes sprinting less sketchy. I agree with the "sense of dominance".
