Welcome to BF! Before you make a purchase, I’d suggest spending some time cruising good local bike shops and doing some window shopping and information gathering. There are road bikes these days that rival hybrids for comfort. A good LBS should do a good job of matching your body, budget and intended riding uses/styles with a good bike for you.
