Modern as long as that meant aluminum rims, 32 or more ss spokes and silver hubs. I don't see anything in other high tech wheel designs that would provide any improvement for a C&V bike or the type of riding done on C&V bikes. Given that, not much reason to mess with the aesthetics of a classic looking bike with goofy wheels.
