2 of my winter bikes have sealed shimano BB's (UN 26 and UN 55) - they've been through 3 winters on other builds and just finished their forth winter season. Still smooth and trust me - Toronto has lots and lots of salt.
I ate up two of them in two successive seasons on my winter bike. Screaming squealing noises out of both of them. I would never put another "sealed" bb on one of my bikes if I could avoid it.
