...reminds me of that big fire in Rye, AZ that destroyed 9,000 bicycles / motorcycles. From what I read, the owner would only occasionally sell but priced way beyond the norm or market. The accumulation over a few decades sat and its a shame that it went up in a blaze, gone in minutes.
I visited that place in the early 90's and they were crazy back then. All those bikes outside, rusting away (up in the mountains where it snowed). And they wouldn't sell anything for a reasonable cost. I found an aluminum shelled SA hub and he wanted $100 for it, back in 1991...Sorry to hear it burned up but the collection was never going to be used before it rusted away.
