I got it backward: bicycling referred to bridgestone as "retro-grouches" and bridgestone referred to bicycling mag as "techno weenies."
I'd say I'm a moderate; I think "innovations" such as electronic shifting are overkill, but I do like the idea of hydraulic dual suspension on mtn bikes. I take it on a case by case basis.
Thanks for the rivendell mention: I'll have to check out their website a bit when I can. btw, jamis sells at least one road bike with traditional dt shifters.
