Planning a vacation for a week in Mackinac Island, MI where cars are not allowed. Would like to bring my own bike rather than using a rental but am wondering if anyone here has brought a bike to Mackinac island. Where did you store your bike overnight? The hotel says there are plenty of bike racks to lock it to. Is that what you did? Would it be safe there? I've never left my bike out overnight before in my life. I'm a lttile nervous about that. I have a forgetaboutit u-lock and cable. If anyone can share their experiences I would appreciate it. My bike is a 1999 Diamondback Crestview hybrid. Nothing special but it's valuable to me. I wouldn't want to lose it.
