Bikes: 03 Raleigh Professional (steel)

I ran across a group at WRL on Monday, nominally at 6:30, out of Bicycles Plus - the Boathouse Ride? Bunch of skinny hammerheads, but after a couple of weeks I might be able to hang on the back of the B group.

StephenH, thanks, I will. Your experience matches my own (albeit limited). Last time I was here I got on with a RBM Saturday ride. No one spoke to me until en route; there were no maps nor offers of route description. In Southern Bicycle League (SBL) in Atlanta we made a very conscious point of greeting newbies, telling them about the route, and having someone - commonly the club officers - be sure that no one was dropped. Although I have met some very nice people here, I don't see that same ethic.

P.S. One thing that really grates is that the web sites of these groups is closed to non-members! I can't ask about a ride unless I pay a fee and join the club. That's not just unfriendly, it's self-defeating!
