Almost certainly related. When your RD ghost shifts down, you lose resistance (or rather, it drops off; you don't lose it entirely). As others suggest, your cable adjustment is probably slightly off, although there can be other causes of ghost shifting. Like Retro Grouch and FB, I'd recommend taking it back to the shop. Should be an easy fix.
