I took the measurements from the fit on my new bike and made the same adjustments on my old bike and it was night and day different and for the first time in 18 years it felt wonderful for the entire ride, so I highly recommend you get a pro fit just to see the difference. I still set up my bikes from that initial fit, but as my body has changed over the years I figure it may be time for another fit, and this has been highly recommended, so that's why I wanted to see how often other get a fit. It sounds like you should try it at least once as it may make your ride even better.
Totally agree here. A while back I started a thread, "When your comfort bike is no longer comfortable". Long story short, I've had a Surly LHT for 2 years. Never had it fitted and thought it was the most comfortable thing in the world. Until recently, when I got a new bike (Specialized Roubaix Elite) and received the fitting for it. REALLY comfortable!! After a few times out on the new ride, I rode the LHT. Suddenly, the LHT was no longer comfortable. Dangest thing. Haven't rode the LHT since, but intend to take the measurements from the Roubaix and make the same adjustments on the Surly.
