A lot of hipster fashion is predicated on historical or classic fashions and dressing differently often with explanations to back it up (i.e. like the article claiming luft is de rigeur based on historical photos). Luft, it could be argued it more hipster as it would be the more eccentric style trying to emulate classic style and go against the current non-luft style common to most cap wearing cyclists.
