Big ugly welds (unless smoothed over like CAAD9s), fat yet unaero tubing, and by far the easiest material to dent. Aluminum is also the cheapest (discounting box store hi-ten steel) of road bike materials.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I think some cf frames look like the down syndrome version of a half defective inbred horse.
And don't get me started about that computer glitch pinarello calls a bike...
