Hello all! I have been (with my limited bike knowledge) working on fixing up the 76 Schwinn Varsity that's been passed down to me to be able to use as a commuter/for fun bike. This is what it looks like now, roughly.





I would like to get a rear rack and baskets for it, as well as some better pedals. I'd like them both to be chrome/silver & in keeping w/the style of the rest of the bike. Looking for suggestions for the rear rack & pedals. I'm on a pretty limited budget and don't need top of the line anything, just so long as it's sturdy and works.

After reading reviews here and on amazon, I was thinking the Wald 582 folding baskets might be good, but haven't been able to find a highly rated, nice looking rear rack to go along with them.

Also I don't know much about mounting the rack...generally would I be able to get new ones on without much modification/hassle?
