Bikes: Tour Easy, Linear USS, Lightening Thunderbolt, custom DF, Raleigh hybrid, Felt time trial

Too slow? Worth the money? Both too personal to answer. Depends on the tourist.

Gearing is low enough to qualify for loaded touring. In this case, with the proverbial 'kitchen sink.'

Avid 5 disk brakes have a bad rep. Avid 7 not.

Fit is First.
