It was still nice, but a disappointment from the torquey 5 speed of yesteryears. If I could not do apples to apples comparisons I would not know. It shifted well, but the engine doesn't seem to have oomph until 3k rpm, and 1-3rd on the 6 speed are geared for parking lot use. You basically row the thing up to speed. Granted, that would let my right forearm and grip strengthen to match the left.
The auto is supposedly quite good, but I don't know how to driver one in winter.
That feature is exclusive to the Mazda6™.
The Mazda 6 is supposed to be a really nice car that rides better than the 3 and almost the same mpg.
