I treat Rest Stops like a convenience store or gas station. I might not take advantage of all of them but I like the fact that they are there. If I need a potty break or to refull I'll stop. As a rule, I try to avoid the first one because sometimes they can be a little crowded. I do like to get in and out quickly but if it is warm and I'm feeling fatigued, I might hang out for a while and recover. Right now while the weather is still mild, I don't need a lot of breaks on 50-60 mile rides, but come summer it will be necessary just to be able to repenish the water bottles.
