I think it is a 1984. That is the mixte version of the Shogun 500 CroMo I picked up--same paint scheme and components as you can see in the
Shogun Serial Database Thread.
Your find really does look to be in immaculate condition.
Would you mind posting a picture of the freewheel on your bike or telling me which one it is? Mine is 5-speed for some odd reason. I'd love to know the make/model of the stock saddle too.
